The Philadelphia Eagles and the Cincinnati Bengals square off in a nationally televised NFL Preseason matchup on Friday night at Paul Brown Stadium (8 pm ET, FOX).
The Bengals are a 3-point, -140 moneyline favorite and the over/under total is 37 in NFL Lines at online sportsbooks.
Philadelphia is 2-1-1 straight but 0-4 against the point spread in the past four meetings, the last one coming two seasons ago when the teams played to a rare, 13-13 tie. The Eagles had been 9-point road favorites and the score went under the total of 41.
Both teams won their NFL exhibition games last week. The Eagles edged the Jacksonville Jaguars 28-27 in their preseason opener last Friday, failing to cash as a 3-point favorite, and the Bengals beat the Denver Broncos 33-24, covering the point spread as 3.5-point favorites. Cincinnati lost to the Dallas Cowboys in the Hall of Fame Game in Canton the previous week.
Philadelphia finished 2nd in the NFC East with an impressive 11-5 SU and 9-7 ATS record last season, but didn’t last long in the NFL Playoffs, losing 34-14 to NFC East rival Dallas Cowboys in the Wild Card round of the NFL Playoffs.
Cincinnati finished the season at 10–6 SU and 7-9 ATS and won the AFC North division, and made the playoffs for the first time since 2005. But like the Eagles, the Bengals’ postseason was short, as they lost 24–14 loss against the New York Jets in the AFC Wild Card Playoff Round.
